Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. Summary:
The psychiatric nurse practitioner is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with psychiatric symptoms in the inpatient, outpatient and emergency departments. The psychiatric NP works in conjunction with the supervising psychiatrist to provide direct service, assessment and disposition decisions. The psychiatric NP utilizes best practice models of care and is up to date on psychopharmacology.

โขMust complete in-house orientation program
โขMaster's degree, Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner
Experience And Skills
โขExcellent interpersonal skills
โขSpeaks, reads and writes English
โขSome experience in inpatient or outpatient behavioral health setting.
โขIn lieu of professional experience, internship or placement experience can be substituted..
License/Certifications
โขCurrent and valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse license
โขCurrent and valid NYS Nurse Practitioner license
โขAmerican Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification as Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
