About the position
The Advanced Practice Provider - Mental Health Services position at Monument Health involves providing outpatient psychiatric care under the supervision of a physician. The role focuses on managing complex patients and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care. The provider will assess, diagnose, and treat patients while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
•Assume primary responsibility in the specialty area under physician supervision.
•Manage selected at-risk or complex patients and aggregate patient populations.
•Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' healthcare problems/needs.
•Apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and implement changes to the plan of care.
•Communicate changes in patient status to meet patient needs.
•Share in practice call requirements as needed.
•Perform procedures and provide first assist coverage when necessary.
•Complete thorough and timely documentation in accordance with facility policy.
•Comply with scope of care under the guidance of regulatory agencies and supervising physician.
•Demonstrate appropriate referral and/or transfer of patients to another facility.
•Conduct comprehensive health history and physical examinations or problem-focused assessments.
•Order appropriate tests, procedures, and therapies in collaboration with medical staff.
•Recognize physical, developmental, and psychosocial distress of patients and families, providing appropriate interventions.
•Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Requirements
•Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) certification in South Dakota and Wyoming.
•1+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
•1+ years of healthcare experience.
Nice-to-haves
•Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
