About the position

The position involves diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses, either independently or as part of a healthcare team. The Nurse Practitioner will participate in formulating a Master Treatment Plan for patients, assess both physical and psychiatric health, and develop measures to meet patient needs. Responsibilities include charting clinical observations, evaluations, and treatments in accordance with facility guidelines, as well as communicating with physicians and other staff to ensure quality patient care. The role also emphasizes family involvement in patient care and addressing educational needs of patients and their families. Legal compliance with hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners is essential. On-call responsibilities are required on a scheduled basis, and the Nurse Practitioner may focus on health promotion and disease prevention, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and prescribing medication.
