Job Summary

1st Choice, LLC is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric and Mental Health (CRNP-PMH) to support one of our county government health department clients. This role provides specialized community-based mental health services on a part-time basis. The Nurse Practitioner delivers holistic, evidence-based psychiatric care through comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic interventions—promoting mental wellness and continuity of care for individuals, families, and groups.

Work Schedule:

•Monday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

•Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Conduct comprehensive psychiatric, psychosocial, and mental health evaluations.

•Complete required clinical and administrative documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

•Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.

•Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medications within scope of Maryland licensure.

•Provide therapeutic counseling and crisis intervention to patients and families.

•Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on health promotion and disease prevention.

•Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and refer patients to appropriate providers and community resources.

•Educate clients and families on medication adherence, lifestyle management, and wellness strategies.

•Participate in health promotion and mental health education outreach activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills in psychiatric and behavioral health care.

•In-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment models.

•Familiarity with:

•Maryland Nurse Practitioner Full Practice Authority Act of 2015

•COMAR regulations

•HIPAA, CDC, and NIMS guidelines

•Excellent communication and counseling skills with diverse and multicultural populations.

•Ability to provide culturally competent care and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients (preferred).

•Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation standards.Work Environment:

•Work is performed in a clinical or community health setting.

•May involve standing, bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.

•Exposure to body fluids and infectious materials may occur; adherence to PPE and infection control procedures is required.

Qualifications:

•Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program.

•Current licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric and Mental Health (CRNP-PMH) in the State of Maryland.

•Demonstrated experience in psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management.

•Current CPR certification and compliance with all credentialing and immunization requirements.

Preferred Experience:

•Experience in public health, community mental health, or behavioral health settings.

•Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.

•Experience serving patients across the lifespan.

Pay: $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
