As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MHNP) in the U.S. Air Force, you’ll provide advanced psychiatric care and emotional support to service members and their families. You’ll be a key part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, offering diagnosis, treatment, and long-term support to individuals facing stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Job Responsibilities: - Diagnose and manage acute and chronic mental health conditions
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Support military personnel through deployments, transitions, and operational stress
- Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care teams
- Contribute to suicide prevention, resiliency training, and wellness initiatives
- Respond to critical incidents and provide crisis intervention when needed
Qualifications: - Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing
- Certified and licensed as a PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
-U.S. citizen between the ages of 18 and 47
- Eligible for commissioning as a U.S. Air Force Officer
- Strong clinical judgment and a desire to serve those who serve
- Willingness to meet physical, professional, and ethical standards of military service
