About the position
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will join the inpatient behavioral health team at UH Ahuja Medical Center, focusing on patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care to patients and their families, while also contributing to the educational development of staff and promoting professionalism within the team.
Responsibilities
โขPerform patient assessments and assign diagnoses based on recorded assessment data and current research.
โขEstablish and implement plans of care in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care.
โขCollaborate with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
โขOrder and perform routine diagnostic procedures.
โขDevelop and implement treatment plans and monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
โขContribute to the educational development of staff, patients, and families.
โขDemonstrate progressive leadership and effective management.
โขProvide education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs.
โขAdvance own professional development through self-directed learning and continuing education.
โขInitiate and maintain positive relationships with patients and co-workers.
Requirements
โขDemonstrated competence as a practitioner.
โขEffective oral and written communication skills.
โขExperience with a variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area.
โขProficiency in computers and selected office equipment.
โขNursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
โขCurrent Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.
โขCurrent APRN license to practice in Ohio.
โขBLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
โขPsychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist credentials.
