We are seeking a qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment near Hardin, MT. This long-term opportunity offers consistent shifts in an outpatient setting within a respected healthcare facility, providing crucial mental health support in a dedicated psychiatric stabilization unit. Position Details: Start Date: January 1, 2025 Assignment Duration: Ongoing Coverage Schedule: Friday nights: 7 PM ??? 7 AM Sunday days: 7 AM ??? 7 PM Monday nights: 7 PM ??? 7 AM Holidays Covered: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Key Responsibilities: Perform emergent psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Department (ED) to determine appropriate patient dispositions Manage patient admissions to an observation unit or inpatient psychiatric units and handle discharges from the ED Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adults in a stabilization unit with typical patient volumes ranging from 4-8 per shift Perform both rounding and direct patient care in a high-acuity setting Position Requirements: Licensure: Must be licensed in Montana or hold an IMLC license Certifications Required: BLS certification is mandatory Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry is required Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Facility uses Cerner; experience with Cerner is preferred but not required Privileges Required: Hospital privileges are required for this role (credentialing process estimated at 90 days) Additional Information: Facility Details: Level 1 Trauma Center with a dedicated psychiatric observation unit Patient Focus: Adult psychiatric patients in an observation and stabilization environment Support Team: Work with a team of skilled mental health professionals, though supervision of other providers is not required Travel & Lodging: Nearest airport is Billings Logan International, and nearby lodging is available with potential discounts Why Consider This Role?
