Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization
The Nurse Practitioner Resident (NP Resident) is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients. The NP Resident will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.
The NP Resident provides primary medical care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Centers in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance and licensure in a manner consistent with guidelines established in the principles of practice at Sea Mar and its mission statement.
The NP Resident may refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.
The NP Resident prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board.
The NP Resident participates in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities. This includes education programs for patients and community groups in the service areas with the approval of the NP Residency Director, Medical Director, and/or Health Center Administrator.
The NP Resident is expected to participate in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the NP Residency Director, Medical Director and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience.
The NP Resident provides care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate.
The NP Resident will fulfill all residency requirements as detailed in the curriculum and as required by the NP Residency Director.
Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications
Basic Education: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), certified Family Nurse Practitioner, active Washington state Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licenses.
Minimum Formal Training: Successful completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program (FNP). National Family Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). To prescribe legend drugs, the ARNP must have notation of approval on license. A current DEA certificate is required if applicant is requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances. A current CPR certificate is required. Additional education may be required for some specialty areas (orthopedics, etc.).
Other: Knowledge of and interest in Latino/Hispanic culture is needed. Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements
Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required
Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all time during the flu season.
Supervision
Supervised by: the NP Residency Director, Medical Director; the Chief Medical Officer; and the Health Center Administrator or delegated administrator as appropriate.
The NP Resident is evaluated on a quarterly basis by the NP Residency Director, faculty, staff, peers, the Medical Director, the Chief Medical Officer, and the Health Center Administrator.
Employees Supervised: The NP Resident provides clinical supervision to the assigned staff of nurses and other paraprofessionals.
Interrelationships: The NP Resident works closely with the NP Residency Director, Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, Administrators and Executive Director to realize the programmatic goals of the organization.
Salary - Salary Plan, 90,000.00 USD Annual
