About the position
Lutheran Community Services Northwest is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and medication evaluation and management to an adult and child population with severe and persistent mental illness. The position also involves Medication Assisted Treatment for our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) population.
Responsibilities
•Comply with laws, rules and regulations governing the provision of care to patients in the State of Oregon.
•Utilize pharmacology within scope of clinical nursing and the prescription of drugs as authorized within the Nurse Practitioner formulary and Oregon Revised Statute.
•Diagnose diseases, ailments and illnesses.
•Interpret results of analyses and tests and provide treatment modalities.
•Complete documentation procedures for charting and reporting physical and mental status of patients in a timely manner.
•Function as a member of a healthcare team.
•Participate in program development.
•Facilitate training for both staff and participants regarding medications, managing and monitoring side effects and non-pharmaceutical interventions to manage symptoms.
•Provide back-up coverage.

Requirements
•Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program specific to the expanded specialty of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
•Training, experience and competence demonstrate the ability to utilize processes, procedures and theories of clinical assessment of physical and mental status of patients.
•Documentation of a positive clearance from the National Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank and the HHS Office of Inspector General Exclusions Database.
•Successful completion of a full criminal offender information record check.
•Licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of Oregon.
•DEA and NPI (should reflect Oregon address).
•Documentation of current BLS/CPR.
