Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions to clients across outpatient and intensive outpatient programs. This role supports Life Point Healthcare Services of Texas in delivering evidence-based behavioral health care, ensuring compliance with Texas licensing standards and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
· Diagnose and manage behavioral health conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
· Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with Texas Board of Nursing guidelines.
· Provide ongoing medication management and supportive psychotherapy as appropriate.
· Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
· Ensure documentation meets state, federal, and accreditation standards, including compliance with HIPAA and Joint Commission requirements.

Qualifications
· Master's or Doctorate in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health.
· Current Texas APRN license with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
· Active DEA license with prescriptive authority in Texas for psychotropic medications, including Schedule II when applicable.
· Experience providing psychiatric care in outpatient, community, or behavioral health settings.
· Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, evidence-based treatment models, and integrated care approaches.
Preferred Experience
· Experience in intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization programs.
· Familiarity with Texas Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation requirements.
· Knowledge of Joint Commission behavioral health standards and state regulatory compliance.
