Description
Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing (BSON) is seeking an innovative and experienced educator to lead the PMHNP Post‑graduate Certificate Program. The PMHNP educator will serve as specialty track Director and will be responsible for the oversight, management, implementation and quality of the PMHNP track of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Program, reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for APRN Programs.
The PMHNP director oversees the team to carry out all matters related to curriculum development, course delivery, quality assurance, faculty evaluation, and clinical placement oversight. The candidate should be a mission‑driven educator with strong clinical expertise, a commitment to advancing health equity, and a deep appreciation for Jesuit values.
Time Commitments
•Teaching: 40‑50% (8‑9 credits)
•Student clinical oversight, including placement: 40%
•Scholarship: 5‑10%

•Terminal degree (research focused, practice focused e.g., DNP, PhD, EdD)
•Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
•Eligible for an unencumbered RN license in the District of Columbia
•Minimum of 3‑5 years progressive leadership or administrative experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
•Prior experience with curriculum development, evaluation, and outcomes
•Experience in developing course content and teaching in a variety of learning formats (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online)
•Excellent interpersonal and team‑building skills
•Demonstrated contributions in teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above on the educator track (NTL)
•Applicants must hold primary residence in an approved state to be eligible for hire
Preferred Qualifications
•Additional certifications (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Informatics)
•Expertise in a variety of teaching modalities including face‑to‑face, virtual learning, asynchronous and synchronous learning
•Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and outcome evaluation
Position Responsibilities Include Administration (up to 40%)
•Management, planning, and coordination of all aspects of program operations, including oversight of clinical education and placement
•Ensuring integration of BSON values including antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion
•Coordination and implementation of the curriculum to reflect current practice guidelines
•Ensuring accreditation requirements are met and annual outcome reports are submitted
•Overseeing the program evaluation plan
•Monitoring and reporting program outcomes such as retention, certification, and employment rates
•Selection, supervision, evaluation, and fostering professional development of program faculty
•Collaboration with faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure outstanding graduates and effective future initiatives
•Enhancement of the program’s reputation and visibility through professional engagement
Teaching (up to 50%)
•Teaches in area of expertise as needed
•Participates in curriculum and course development
•Develops and implements innovative teaching strategies
Scholarship & Service (10‑20%)
•Engagement in scholarly activities such as research, publications, and grant writing
•Participation in program, school, university, and other committees as required
•Participation in relevant student events as required
•Didactic and clinical instruction across multiple modalities, including entry‑level, graduate‑level core, and specialty courses
•Teaching at objective clinical intensives (OCI) both in‑person on‑campus and virtually
