About the position
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Whitman Counseling Center is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric care, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy services. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care. The PMHNP will work under the supervision of a consulting psychiatrist and clinic director, adhering to established guidelines and productivity requirements.
Responsibilities
•Conduct initial client assessment including psychiatric and medical history, develop diagnosis and treatment.
•Provide individual therapy as indicated with medication management.
•Perform psychopharmacology duties as per written guidelines established between supervising psychiatrist and prescriber.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary team as needed.
•Document using electronic health record (EHR) as required by clinic policy.
•Participate in discharge planning as needed.
•Maintain/review established productivity requirements (up to 3 routine medication follow-up encounters per hour).
•Execute duties to reflect agency/program policies and philosophy.
•Perform other related work duties as assigned/discussed with supervisor or designee.
