The organization is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to provide primary and/or specialty nursing and medical care across diverse healthcare settings. This role involves collaborating with physicians under a standard care arrangement, performing comprehensive health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans. The successful candidate will manage patient care, including prescribing medications as authorized, and contribute to quality patient outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Practice Info

•Provides primary and/or specialty nursing and medical care in a variety of healthcare settings.

•Functions in collaboration with a physician according to a standard care arrangement.

•Practice involves a variety of specialty-based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult.

•Practices in settings requiring complex monitoring, therapies, high-intensity nursing intervention, or continuous nursing vigilance for high-acuity care.

•Operates in accordance with Section 4723.431 of the Ohio Revised Code and rules adopted by the Board of Nursing for Advanced Practice Nurses.

•Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes, completed via FPPE and OPPE as part of Joint Commission requirements.

Responsibilities

•Perform health assessments and physical exams, identifying significant health and medical risk factors.

•Order, interpret, and evaluate tests and studies to assess clinical problems and healthcare needs.

•Develop diagnoses by analyzing and synthesizing collected data.

•Independently and in collaboration with physicians, develop treatment plans with patients and significant others.

•Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with board certification, state law, and organizational medical staff privileges.

•Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority through the Ohio Board of Nursing and hospital policy.

•Develop patient education plans and assist with discharge planning.

•Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

•Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred (or actively pursuing if not held at hire).

•Licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio.

•National Certification as a nurse practitioner by a nationally accredited organization.

•Current Certificate of Authority and Certificate to Prescribe (or eligible) by the Ohio Board of Nursing (or actively pursuing if not held at hire).

•Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges.

•Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required.

•ACLS or PALS may be required based upon practice setting.

•Excellent critical thinking, self-motivation, and interpersonal communication skills.

•Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database use, and other computer software programs for data analysis and presentations.
