Scope of Work
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing mental health care to consumers. The role includes collaboration and consultation with a supervising psychiatrist and the multidisciplinary treatment team in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Education & Licensure
Master's or Doctoral degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from an accredited university
Current, unrestricted state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic and psychiatric assessments
Prescribe psychiatric medications and adjust dosages as clinically indicated
Provide medication management and follow-up care
Consult and collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team
Consult with supervising psychiatrist(s) for clinical guidance and supervision
Order laboratory tests and make specialist referrals as medically indicated
Utilize e-prescribing systems for ordering and refilling medications

Review consumers' functioning related to activities of daily living and coping skills during medication reviews
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Arrange medication transfers to other providers when necessary
