The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a highly motivated and licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. Responsibilities
•Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses of patients in collaboration with a supervising physician
•Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, utilizing evidence-based interventions
•Prescribe and monitor medications and treatments, adjusting as necessary to achieve optimal patient outcomes
•Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for self-care and coping
•Coordinate care with other healthcare providers as necessary to ensure continuity of care and holistic treatment
•Document all patient encounters and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the EPIC electronic medical record
•Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with new developments and trends in psychiatric care
•Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality and providing sensitive care

Requirements
•Current and valid license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas
•Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
•Experience working in a psychiatric setting providing direct patient care preferred but will interview persons recently graduated
•Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills
•Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare providers
•Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
•Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
•Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology
