The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive

psychiatric care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health

conditions. The role requires a high level of expertise in psychiatric nursing and a commitment to

delivering exceptional patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

•Incorporates the six principles of trauma informed care throughout all aspects of their work.

•Conducts thorough psychiatric assessments of patients to identify mental health issues and formulate treatment plans.

•Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement holistic care plans for patients.

•Prescribes and managing psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and guidelines.

•Provides individual and group therapy to support patients in managing their mental health conditions.

•Monitors and evaluating patients' progress and making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

•Educates patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

•Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

•Master's degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.

•Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Indiana.

•Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

(PMHNP)

•Proven experience providing psychiatric care to diverse patient

populations

•Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment

modalities for mental health disorders.

•Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues

•Proficiency in using electronic health records and other healthcare

technology
