Job Overview
Location/Schedule : This position is primarily located at the Woodland Park Health Center located in NE Portland, OR, but will additionally work across two other health centers in the nearby Portland area. The schedule for this position isWednesday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., some flexibility available in schedule.

Program D escription : As part of Cascadia Health, the Child and Family Program provides services to youth and families across the Portland metropolitan area, with primary locations at each Cascadia Health Center. Our diverse team of clinicians and case managers works collaboratively to strengthen families through compassionate, high-quality care, including services such as individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, clinical case management, and advocacy in partnership with community organizations. Position Description: As the licensed medical provider for the Cascadias Child and Family program you will p rovide psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management to consumers under 18 years old and to Transitional Age Youth receiving services at Cascadia clinical programs, while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required the Licensed Medical Practitioner (LMP) understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve.
Depending on the program served, services may range from one time consultations to internal staff or external partner providers/agencies to ongoing services. Provide formal and informal case consultation to case managers, therapists, nursing staff, and other treatment team members. Coordinate with primary care and other external care providers serving individual consumers, as per community standards. Provide case consultation and support to family and/or other members of individual consumers support systems, as needed.

•PMHNP/DNP: $72.03/hr. ($149,794/yr.) to $79.22/hr. ($164,782/yr.)
•Psychiatrist: $123.75/hr. ($257,385/yr.) to $136.11/hr. ($283,113/yr.)
Essential Responsibilities

•Determine medical necessity and appropriateness of mental health services for enrolled consumers/families.
•Document medical supervision of cases by signing comprehensive mental health assessments, updates, and individual support and service plans.
•Provide psychiatric assessments for enrolled consumers/families.
•Provide screening and assessment of consumers medical needs, including lab testing.
•Provide medication consultation and management for consumers/parents/guardians, including supplying prescriptions and providing ongoing assessment of medication effectiveness, safety, and appropriateness.
•Provide case consultation to Cascadia clinicians, including participation in regular treatment team meetings.
•Maintain accurate and up to date documentation on consumer care, following agency requirements for clinical and billing purposes.
•Work cooperatively with other treatment team members in the service of consumers.
•Work cooperatively with external care providers and support system members (including parents/guardians) in the service of consumers.
•Document and maintain electronic health record (EHR) and ancillary records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policies, program procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation associated with billing, assessment, treatment, clients progress and other activities, as required.
•Provide urgent back up services for consumers enrolled in the same services/program whose primary LMP is unavailable.
•Respect and honor consumer/parental/guardian rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics.
•Assist in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols/procedures and coordinating with the treatment team with interventions which support a trauma informed environment for clients/residents and staff.
•Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA requirements.
•Deliver timely, accurate, and professional documentation. Provide input on all relevant documentation and procedural requirements.
•Complete annual employee training requirements on a timely basis as indicated in the licensing requirements for the facility as well as agency requirements. Attend seminars, training and other educational opportunities in order to develop professional skills and abilities.
•Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have either of the following:
•Active state medical license, including maintenance requirements and DEA certification.
•Certification (or eligibility for certification) by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for general psychiatry , OR Certification (or eligibility for certification) by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for child and adolescent psychiatry.
OR
•Active State Nursing License as a PMHNP /DNP , including maintenance requirements and DEA certification. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Experience:
•2-5 years of clinical experience with a community mental health clinic population is preferred.
•2 or more years of child and adolescent psychiatry experience preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Sufficient computer skills to complete documentation in an electronic medical records system in a timely manner
•Provide care in a setting consistent with the principles of collaborative care informed by stages of change models
Other:
•Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and properly use AED equipment. CPR/ First Aid certifications are required and must remain current.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical clinical setting. As such, the setting is not secure, and the LMP will be responsible for creating a safe environment within the meeting area. Employee will be provided with a private space, as needed, in which to meet with consumers, and have access to appropriate tools with which to meet the requirements of their work (such as computer, printer, scale, and other).
Mental Demands: Assigned work includes interacting with a variety of consumers, some of whom may present emotional and/or behavioral challenges. The LMP is expected to respond with appropriate professional interventions.
Busy schedules will demand a high degree of time management skills, including triage and prioritization skills.
Physical Demands: Employee must be able to safely navigate the environment in the clinic building. The LMP must be able to escort clients between waiting areas and their meeting space, before and after the session.
