Together with psychiatric attendings, attending of other specialties, residents, nurses, social workers and other members of the treatment team, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric assessments (identify barriers to care, gather information for referrals, arrange home visits, etc…), provide short-term services to psychiatric inpatients and consultation service patients, help develop care management strategies for patients, provide continuity psychiatric outpatient services in different sites, and help create linkages for the various health and social needs of patients.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will initially work in the psychiatric inpatient and consultation services at Cooper Hospital, but will eventually transition a defined percent of time to continuity psychiatric services at the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic or community sites to be determined.
