**Overview:**
Riggs Community Health Center is pleased to announce the 6th cohort of its Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Accredited Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. The program is designed for new nurse practitioners to develop careers in rural clinics or underserved healthcare settings. **Responsibilities:**
•Provide primary care to medically underserved populations in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting
•Participate in a 1-year paid residency program with first consideration of permanent employment at Riggs Community Health Center or a community partner facility
Develop skills in a challenging rural clinic setting
•Collaborate with community partners to improve access to quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare
•*Qualifications:**
•Recent graduate (up to 18 months out of NP school) from an accredited primary care nurse practitioner program
•Board certification in Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
•Indiana state RN and APN credentialing, if applicable
•Strong commitment to providing primary care to medically underserved populations
•Bilingual preferred, but not required
•Completed a 2-credit pharmacology course within the last 5 years
•Willingness to shadow at Riggs CHC and community partner clinics prior to acceptance into the residency program
•Willingness to travel to and from clinic sites in Indiana
