In collaboration with, and under the direction of the Associate Medical Director, the Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) – PT/PRN will perform acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures within the agency and at off-site locations. The incumbent will be dedicated to integrating physical and behavioral health services within the agency and specified partner agencies. The position will be integral in the development, design, management, and growth of the agency’s physical and behavioral health programs, policies, and partnerships. The CRNP – PT/PRN is accountable for the quality and effectiveness of the services offered to consumers, as well as represents the agency as a leader in the organization and community.
The CRNP – PT/PRN will work with the Associate Medical Director, who will be designated as the supervising physician for the purpose of CRNP licensure and prescriptive authority. The incumbent will need to have prescriptive authority, including DEA licensure.
Education: Master’s degree in nursing.
Experience: 3 years of nursing experience as a pediatric and psychiatric mental health nurse preferred.

· Knowledge in treatment protocols and integrating psychotropic medications into a comprehensive treatment plan.
· Ability to provide parent and staff education on psychiatric diagnoses, current and proposed psychiatric medications, and additional methods of self-management.
· Ability and willingness to engage in activities related to the promotion, coordination, and facilitation of treatment and recovery within a team model of service delivery.
· Ability to engage in clinical performance and improvement activities, as well as use data to improve practice.
· Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventative health-care measures.
· Knowledge of human behavior and performance, including individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning, motivation, psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
· Ability to work with children/adolescents and effectively interact with their caregivers.
· Knowledge in biological, pharmacological, social, and behavioral sciences relevant to adult, child, and adolescent psychiatric nursing.
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations relative to behavioral and physical health.
· Critical observation, assessment, and reporting skills.
· Knowledge of available community resources for incorporation into the service plan.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical recordkeeping.
· Adheres to standards and procedures set forth in collaborative agreement with the Associate Medical Director.
· In consult with the Associate Medical Director, provides advanced nursing care and treatment to consumers, including physical and behavioral health evaluations, diagnoses, mental status exams, medication management, consultation to staff and families, physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing drugs or other therapies.
· Partners with children, adolescents, and parents by providing education concerning diagnoses, medication, treatment options, and recommendations.
· Evaluates mental health issues in conjunction with physical health, by use of BMI, height, weight, medical and family history, and other data as appropriate.
· Collaborates with other treatment and insurance providers to ensure continuity of care.
· Utilizes electronic medical record and e-prescriber to complete required documents.
· Participates in leadership and administrative meetings in the program as requested.
· Maintains current information on file with HR, including medical licenses, DEA licenses, malpractice insurance, clearances, and other documentation as requested.
· Conducts routine screening for behavioral health problems in a primary care setting, making appropriate referrals for continuing behavioral health care and services.
· Engages in the routine exchange of information representing all of the agency in a primary care setting, bridging cultural differences.
· Works with an interdisciplinary team, integrating behavioral and physical health elements of a treatment approach.
· Consults between behavioral health and physical health providers to increase the awareness and education of both groups.
· Develops behavioral and physical health initiatives and partnerships as a representative of the agency.
· Maintains an awareness of, and an adherence to, all privacy regulations and laws.
· Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practices.
· Maintains relationships with funders and community partners and represents the agency in the stakeholder community as requested.
· Develops treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
· Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
· Educates and guides consumers in preventative care, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, and tailoring instructions to consumer’s individual circumstances.
· Acts in compliance with nursing licensure regulations and best practices, including the maintenance of complete, accurate, and timely medical records.
· Promotes and assists in the control of communicable diseases through preventative immunization programs, early detection, surveillance, reporting, and follow-up of contagious diseases.
