Duties:1. Provides diagnostic, treatment, and referral services for psychiatric patients using evidence-based practices. 2. Develops treatment plans including type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy in collaboration with the treatment team. Evaluates effectiveness of treatment, and modifies plan as needed. Makes appropriate psychotherapy referrals when indicated. Collaborates with all members of the mental health team. 3. Provides clinical supervision. Directs, coordinates, and evaluates activities for non-licensed staff and student interns engaged in patient evaluation and treatment. 4. Provides crisis intervention services to clients with a wide variety of acute mental health problems, including suicide attempts, family conflicts, alcohol misuse, drug abuse, grief reactions, and trauma resulting from violence. 5. Provides follow-up on patients who have recently been discharged from inpatient psychiatric facility and those with poor adherence to treatment plan. 6. Maintains all appropriate client records according to professional and departmental policies. 7. On-call coverage is provided on a schedule coordinated with the emergency room. Takes rotation along with rest of staff. 8. Works closely with the Navajo Tribal Division of Social Services, law enforcement and other agencies to coordinate services for mental health patients who have serious family and other social problems. and other responsibilities consistent with the role
Qualifications:Education: Must have Masters' degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Licensure: • Must have a valid, current and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in any state within the United States, District of Columbia or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. • Must maintain continuous valid license with documentation of continuing education credits submitted to the State Board of Nursing; must adhere to the professional, ethical, and legal guidelines outlined by the individual's licensing body. Experience: Completion of education and supervision hours required for independent licensure.
