Position Overview
A well-established, nonprofit community health organization is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its integrated behavioral health team. This outpatient role focuses on providing high-quality psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services within a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare setting serving diverse and underserved populations.
The PMHNP will work closely with psychiatrists, primary care providers, therapists, and care coordinators to deliver comprehensive, whole-person behavioral healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
•Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and diagnostic interviews
•Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using evidence-based practices
•Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up care
•Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams
•Coordinate care with primary care and behavioral health providers to support integrated care models
•Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)
•Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and organizational regulations
•Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to a diverse patient population
Qualifications
•Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
•Active California Nurse Practitioner license
•National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
•Furnishing number and DEA license (or ability to obtain)
•Prior experience in outpatient psychiatry, community health, or integrated care settings preferred
•Bilingual skills (Spanish, or Vietnamese) preferred but not required
