Position Overview:

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide patient-centered behavioral health services within an outpatient, collaborative care setting. This role plays a key part in supporting our mission to integrate mental health and medical care for underserved communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

•Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new and established patients.

•Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.

•Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practices.

•Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure integrated treatment.

•Provide ongoing medication management and crisis intervention as needed.

•Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR).

•Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and wellness strategies.

•Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.

Qualifications:

•Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.

•Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in the State of Florida.

•DEA registration with the ability to prescribe controlled substances.

•A minimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric practice experience is preferred.

•Experience working with diverse and underserved populations is strongly preferred.

•Culturally competent and affirming of LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and HIV-positive individuals.

•Strong interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and a teamwork mindset.

•Familiarity with trauma-informed care and integrated health models is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

•Bilingual (English/Spanish)

•Experience with LGBTQ+ mental health, HIV care, or substance use treatment

•Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athena)
