Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master’s or Doctoral level)
•Current, unrestricted NP license in the State of Washington
•National certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
•Current DEA registration and NPI number
•Minimum of two years of clinical experience in psychiatric or correctional settings
•Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA-approved)
•Familiarity with NCCHC standards and Washington State healthcare regulations
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
•Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening
Responsibilities:
•Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals in custody.
•Conduct mental health assessments, medication management, and crisis evaluations.
•Diagnose and treat psychiatric and behavioral health conditions within the NP scope of practice.
•Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical best practices.
•Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide immediate stabilization.
•Collaborate with physicians, medical staff, mental health professionals, and correctional personnel.
•Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR.
•Support suicide prevention protocols, mental health screenings, and discharge planning.
•Ensure ongoing compliance with NCCHC, WAC, and facility-specific healthcare policies.
