Florida Psychological Associates | Northeast Florida
Competitive salary + full benefits | In-person + hybrid model
Fernandina Beach, FL (primary)
Florida Psychological Associates is expanding our psychiatric services—and we're doing it intentionally.
We are seeking one or two Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners or Licensed Psychiatrists to join a collaborative, integrated care team built for sustainability, not heroics.
This is not a med mill.
This is not autonomous siloed prescribing.
This is not a "hold everything yourself" role.
We're building coverage and shared responsibility so no single provider carries the full weight of the role or becomes stretched beyond what's sustainable.
If you believe good psychiatry requires time, collaboration, and systems that actually work, keep reading.
OUR VALUES (NON-NEGOTIABLE)We hire and operate through five core values. If these resonate, you'll feel at home here.
You show up as a real human. You take responsibility, communicate directly, and don't hide behind credentials, rigidity, or perfectionism.
You take ownership of your work and your growth. You're self-directed, thoughtful, and capable of working within structure without needing micromanagement.
Florida Psychological Associates is hiring for this PMHNP position. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners play a critical role in addressing the growing demand for mental health services across the United States. This employer is actively seeking qualified candidates to join their team.

You value emotional regulation, clear boundaries, and steady systems. You contribute to calm—especially when cases are complex or emotionally charged.
You believe sustainable practices matter. You understand that financial clarity, coverage, and shared load allow clinicians to do better work long term.
You care about evidence-based, ethical psychopharmacology. You stay curious, question your own habits, and value consultation over certainty.
We are a training-forward, multidisciplinary outpatient practice serving Northeast Florida, with psychologists, licensed therapists, and psychiatric services working as a true team.
Our psychiatric providers work collaboratively with our Medical Director (board-certified psychiatrist) and our clinical staff, not in isolation. Oversight here is support, not surveillance—and consultation is built into the culture.
THE ROLEYou'll carry a psychiatric caseload focused on medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. You'll prescribe controlled substances, when clinically indicated, within a supported and accountable framework.
Work under a collaborative practice agreement with our psychiatrist Medical Director, if applicable
Participate in regular case consultation for complex presentations
Coordinate closely with therapists—these are shared patients, not parallel tracks
Practice within clear systems designed to reduce cognitive and emotional overload
This role is intentionally designed so that no single provider is the sole holder of coverage or clinical burden.
Competitive salary based on experience
Health, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with employer match
Generous PTO plus a paid birthday
Collaborative practice agreement with psychiatrist Medical Director
Regular case consultation and backup for complex cases
Integrated care model—you know your patients' therapists
Fully paperless, modern EHR
Clear expectations, real support, and humane workloads
Are board-certified (or eligible) PMHNP with an active Florida APRN license or a licensed psychiatrist with an active Florida medical license
Hold DEA registration and are comfortable prescribing controlled substances
Have experience with—or openness to—working across the lifespan, including pediatrics
Practice evidence-based psychopharmacology and can explain why you do what you do
Value physician collaboration as support, not restriction
Can manage a caseload without cutting corners or burning yourself out
Communicate clearly, accept feedback without defensiveness, and use consultation well
Understand that documentation, follow-through, and scheduling are part of quality care
Actually want to work as part of a team—not just alongside one
If this resonates, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us who you are and how you practice, not just where you trained.
