UMass Memorial Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in Psychiatry to provide care in our 20-bed geriatric and older adult inpatient psychiatric unit at Clinton Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients, including history-taking, mental status exams, and diagnostic assessments.
•Diagnose a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, addiction-related disorders, and dementia.
•Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, focusing on pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.

•He/She will also act as an expert witness for court cases involving civil commitments and guardianships
Qualifications:
•Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
•Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Massachusetts.
•Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required.
•Two years of prior experience in psychiatric settings is preferred, including inpatient care, medication management, and crisis intervention.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting, including with diverse patient populations.
•Knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatric care and mental health recovery.
