Position summary

MindHealthMD LLC is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient psychiatric services for an adult population with varied levels of clinical need. This role is especially well suited to a clinician who is comfortable caring for high acuity patients.

The PMHNP will conduct psychiatric evaluation, ongoing medication management, treatment planning, and care coordination while documenting in Charm. The position calls for sound judgment, steady communication, and a professional approach to collaboration across a multidisciplinary group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessment and ongoing treatment for patients age 18 and older in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Manage medication regimens for individuals with complex mental health presentations and substance use disorder histories.
• Support patients who are participating in an IOP or PHP program, with attention to symptom change, safety, function, and continuity of care.
• See a mix of high acuity cases and general psychiatric patients while maintaining a consistent standard of clinical quality.
• Develop, update, and document treatment plans in Charm with clear clinical rationale and timely follow-through.
• Coordinate with Psychiatrists, fellow PMHNP's, MA's, Tech, and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow and informed decision-making.
• Deliver substance abuse medication management for high acuity patients in a manner that reflects current best practice and careful monitoring.
• Contribute to a team-based culture by communicating respectfully, sharing relevant findings, and responding constructively to operational needs.
• Apply prior TMS and Spravato experience where indicated within the scope of the clinic's services and protocols.

Required qualifications

• Current licensure and board certification required for practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the applicable state.
• Demonstrated outpatient psychiatric experience with adult patients.
• Strong background working with high acuity mental health patients.
• Substance abuse medication management experience with high acuity patients.
• Ability to evaluate clinical risk, organize follow-up needs, and maintain accurate records in an electronic health record.
• Experience working effectively as a great team player in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Clear, professional communication skills with patients, families when appropriate, and clinical colleagues.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience supporting patients connected to an IOP or PHP program.
• TMS experience.
• Spravato experience.
• Comfort managing a patient panel that includes both complex presentations and general psychiatric follow-up.
• Familiarity with Charm or the ability to learn a new system quickly and use it consistently.
• Interest in long-term professional growth within a developing outpatient practice.

Schedule

This position is based in the office on Monday and Friday, with virtual work as needed. The practice is located in West Los Angeles Olympic and Sepulveda, and the role is structured to support outpatient continuity while allowing practical flexibility based on patient care demands.

Compensation and benefits

Compensation for this role is $110-$125 per hour. Pay will align with relevant experience, clinical background, and fit for the patient population served by the clinic.
