We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing practice to provide medication management services in collaboration with our licensed therapists.

Position Overview

The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing follow-up care to clients receiving therapy services at Stars Counseling Services. This role is ideal for a provider who values collaboration, autonomy, and ethical, client-centered care.

This position offers a flexible schedule, administrative support, insurance credentialing, and a steady referral stream from an established therapy practice.

Responsibilities

•Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations

•Diagnose mental health conditions and develop medication treatment plans

•Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with Florida law

•Provide medication follow-up visits and monitor treatment effectiveness

•Collaborate with therapists and other providers as appropriate

•Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation

•Educate clients and families on medications, side effects, and treatment options

•Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice

Qualifications Required:

•Active, unrestricted Florida APRN license

•Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

•Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain)

•Experience providing psychiatric medication management

•Knowledge of Florida prescribing laws and scope of practice

•Professional liability insurance

•Ability to work independently while collaborating with a treatment team

Preferred:

•Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or young adults

•Experience in outpatient or private practice settings

•Comfort with both in-person and telehealth services

•Interest in holistic or integrative mental health approaches
