Boulder Care is looking for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) who are aligned with harm reduction principles and have experience prescribing buprenorphine-based medications for opioid use disorder in an outpatient setting.This is a 100% remote, part-time, W2 position. If you are interested in full-time opportunities, please apply here: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/bouldercare/jobs/4926095008We are looking for individuals who:Reside in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CO, FL, ID, KS, NC, MD, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, WA, WYHave an active NP license + PMHNP certification in your state of residency Have at least 1 year of experience regularly prescribing buprenorphine-based medications in an independent, outpatient setting as a core part of your daily practice (not something done occasionally or only during training)Are interested in part-time work: 4-25 hours/week, minimum shift length of 4 hoursWe are currently prioritizing candidates who can take one recurring weekday evening shift (5pm to 9pm Eastern/2pm to 6pm Pacific) and have at least two additional weekday evenings available to pick up voluntary shiftsIf this sounds like you, please continue applying!About the RoleClinicians work directly with patients to provide medication-assisted treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and empower patients in their individual recovery journeys as a member of Boulder's multidisciplinary care team. This is a high-impact, patient-facing role, which involves delivering compassionate and evidence-based care through telehealth. Care is provided largely through standard audio-visual connection but also includes occasional audio/telephone visits and a small volume of text-based communications. Clinical work is assisted by Boulder clinical decision support tools within our custom EHR, staff education, and real-time support from colleagues and clinical leadership. Success in This RolePatient Facing (90%)Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage ongoing care for individuals with complex substance use disorders (SUDs) and related comorbiditiesUnderstand, embrace, and incorporate harm reduction practices into all patient care Help elicit patients' own goals for their recovery and help them in achieving these goals over time through therapeutic alliance and shared decision-makingEducate patients on Boulder's model of care, SUDs, related comorbidities, recovery strategies, and safer use where appropriateCoordinate with teammates and Clinical Leadership to develop and oversee treatment plans, adjusting them as neededProvide patient care during scheduled part-time shifts, which may include some nonstandard hours depending on coverage needs and candidate availabilityUse technology effectively to facilitate a safe and rewarding patient experienceInterpret and share clinical results with patients without judgment in order to help them meet their goals and stay safeEnable care coordination, connecting patients to clinical resources within and outside of Boulder through referrals where necessary, working with Peer Recovery Specialists, Case Managers, Care Advocates, and Care Navigators to help patients access social resources and navigate the healthcare systemAdministrative (10%) Deliver proactive, clear, and constructive feedback and collaborate with Boulder's Technology and Operations teams to troubleshoot as we continuously build out our digital treatment platformsBy the end of shift, all visit documentation must be completed, including all relevant information to enable consistent, high-quality team-based careReview relevant Slack channels for updates and team communicationUnderstand and follow Boulder's policies and proceduresRequirements for the RoleMinimum 1 year of addiction treatment experience as an NP including adult populations3 or more years of clinical experience as an NP or RN preferredDegree from an accredited school of nursing and a graduate-level Clinician programAbility to gain approval for multiple state licenses and insurance company contracts (no significant legal or credentialing barriers/sanctions)Demonstrated expertise managing SUDs within a chronic care model, utilizing medication assisted recovery paired with social needs management in a Clinician capacityProficiency in electronic medical records and video conferencing; experience with Google Suite or similar platform highly preferredDemonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and collaborative problem solving.Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, workflows, and evolving clinical practices within our growing organizationAbility to efficiently manage time and caseload within a part-time scheduleComfortable and effective working in a fast-paced, team-based care model, maintaining focus and quality even with limited weekly hoursDedicated, private workspace with a lockable door and high-speed internet to ensure HIPAA complianceCannot have previously been a patient at Boulder CareSchedule Expectations Part-time:Part-time clinicians typically work between 4 and 25 hours per weekEach clinician has one recurring weekly anchor shift, usually a weekday evening from 5pm to 9pm Eastern (2pm to 6pm Pacific)All shifts are a minimum of 4 hoursClinicians can pick up voluntary shifts as they become available, depending on business need and availability, including additional weekday evenings or morning and midday hoursPart-timers have the option to transfer to full-time roles when positions open and if it aligns with their goalsCompensationPart-time:$68 - $80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Hiring ProcessFirst Interview: 30-minute phonePanel Interview: 60-minute videoHiring Timeline: We are currently targeting start dates throughout Q2 of 2026BenefitsPart-time employees receive:Sick leave accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours paidLicensing, credentialing, malpractice, and waiver renewal coverageHardware provided
