Job Summary

Orchard Mental Health Group is Maryland’s premier outpatient provider for all ages, fostering community healing and wellness through compassionate care and operational excellence.

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Rockville or Frederick location. Special consideration for applicants with pediatric specialty expertise (ages 5+). We treat a wide range of psychiatric concerns in an outpatient setting. This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work and has an option for telehealth hours in a private home based office. Must hold an active independent practice license in the state of Maryland, or be license eligible. Provide your license information in application materials.

We encourage concise documentation and utilize a robust EMR system that offers built in assessment tools, electronic prescribing, templated notes, patient portal communications, automatic appointment reminders, and remote access. Our highly trained administrative support team members provide support with scheduling, insurance verification and billing, referral support, medical records requests, pharmacy pre-auths and support, letters, and other general office tasks.

This is a W2 position offering above market hourly compensation model for all billables (fee for service) as well as paid time for administrative tasks. Will consider full time or part time (18+ hours).

Responsibilities

•Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing advanced clinical techniques.

•Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy, and behavioral interventions.

•Prescribe and manage medications, including complex regimens involving botulinum toxin treatment and other injectable therapies.

•Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment strategies as needed.

•Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with acute pain management needs, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or memory care.

•Provide telehealth services utilizing telemedicine platforms to expand access to mental health services.

•Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication administration, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.

•Participate in clinical research projects related to behavioral health or psychopharmacology when applicable.

•Maintain current knowledge of healthcare laws including Workers' Compensation law and utilization review standards.
