Responsible/accountable for all elements of nursing process when providing and/or supervisor direct patient care. Assumes responsibility for the coordinaton of care focused on patient education, self management and customer satisfaction through the continuum of care. Administer's medication's and assist in the performance of procedures per established policies and guidelines. Execute responsibilities that demonstrate experience and creative approaches to the management of complex, patient care.
Responsible for providing competent evidence based procedural care to assign patients and oversight of staff, but including, but not limited to the licensed vocational/practical nurses and or health technicians, nursing assistance as appropriate and the pre-/pulse procedural settings. Provides patient care, care, coordination health, promotion, health, education, and coaching. They will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies, and providing quality, approved, improvement and outcomes utilization. Delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic cardiology procedures, including both inpatient and outpatient. Assess the patient's physical and mental status prior to procedures educate on procedural and pre-/postop procedural care and documents responses to interventions findings and reports any changes. Partners with a with the patient family and a disciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the healthcare continuum including the veterans bowls of care. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improve improvement. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the development of healthcare professionals. Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Integrates evidence based practice with clinical expertise. Participate in activities and strategies to sustain and improve an evidence based practice culture. May function in several roles to include pre-procedure assessments, post procedural, recovery and assisting providers doing during procedures. They maintain proficiency on the maintenance cleaning and preparation of cardiology specific equipment. They recognize changes in patient care situations and integrate appropriate emergency responses. Adapt to changes and daily schedule. May be assigned call in which they will follow all facility policies regarding response time. Has experience with situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform in integrating their theoretical concepts, strong critical thinking skills and exhibits a robust, technically skilled practice. Moderate sedation: this position will administer moderate sedation/analgesia under immediate direct supervision of a physician who is clinically privileged to perform modernization. Individuals administering and monitoring moderate sedation, must have documented, competency base, education, and training.
