The advanced practice clinician (APC), Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APC provides comprehensive care in the Behavioral Health ambulatory practice setting including office based outpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care.
Assessment & Management
Performs complete psychiatric evaluations, including documentation in the electronic medical record.
Orders and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
The APP may serve as the first responder for both nursing and house staff in the event of patient status changes, orders, and in situations requiring procedural and resuscitative interventions.
Assesses for risks and contributing factors associated with the care of the acute and complex chronically ill patient including: medical comorbidities, medication side effects, and psychosocial determinants.
Diagnosis
Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care team in making diagnoses of acute and complex chronic conditions.
Manages diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision.
Formulates differential diagnoses by priority.

Seeks opportunities for active engagement in research, the analysis of evidenced based practice and engagement with Jefferson Health enterprise meetings

Qualifications
Master's Degree
National Board Certification as a Psychiatric - Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(CAQ-Psych Preferred) or with experience
Salary Range
The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
