Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in behavioral health, mental health assessments, and pharmacological management, with a strong background in diverse clinical settings including outpatient and telehealth environments. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care across a wide patient demographic, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with complex mental health needs. The PMHNP will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered treatment plans that promote recovery and well-being.

Duties

•Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing advanced medical documentation systems such as NextGen Office.

•Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, including medication management and injections administered with expertise in psychotropic medications.

•Manage behavioral health crises, including triage and urgent care interventions.

•Perform comprehensive patient care activities including vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations involving laboratory testing and medical imaging.

•Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and post-acute care strategies.

•Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical records documentation using EMR/EHR systems and working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.

•Participate in telehealth consultations to extend mental health services to remote or underserved populations.

•Engage in ongoing professional development through clinical research participation and staying current with advancements in neuropsychiatric treatments such as neurostimulation techniques or memory care strategies for dementia patients.

Skills

•Proven experience in behavioral health settings with familiarity in managing patients with developmental disabilities, dementia care, Alzheimer's disease, or memory care units.

•Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and medical terminology relevant to psychiatric practice.

•Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred.

•Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs measurement, physical exams across pediatric to geriatric populations

•Experience administering injections and injections techniques for medication delivery

•Excellent communication skills for teaching treatment plans; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
