Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties
Duties are but not limited to: The incumbent practices in Mental Health services as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide a full range of services in a variety of settings - emphasizing quality - timeliness - and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission
The PMHNP provides advanced clinical practice - consultation - and management
These skills enable the Advance Practice Nurse (APN) to anticipate and implement preventive health measures with a strong emphasis on patient/significant other/family education as well as illness management of mental health care/specialty care
The PMHNP practices to the full extent of their education - training - and certification
Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position
The PMHNP has prescriptive authority - if required - as indicated by their position
All Nurse Practitioners assigned to Mental Health Service will meet basic requirements and hold a degree of Master's level or higher from a or university
Each Nurse Practitioner will establish and maintain professional relationships within Mental Health Service and with other services within the medical center
