Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies to promote recovery and resilience.
Skills
Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for comprehensive medical documentation.
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management strategies.
Ability to perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiological evaluations.
Familiarity with diverse clinical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU or trauma centers, outpatient clinics, or home care environments.
Competence in performing procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, venipuncture, catheterization, or sterile processing when necessary.
Excellent communication skills for teaching hospital environments or telehealth platforms; ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an accredited PMHNP program at the master’s or higher degree level.
Possess appropriate board certification as a PMHNP.
Possess an active and unencumbered license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse as well as a DEA license (or be able to obtain one) to prescribe controlled substances in the State of Nebraska.
Be able to work with individuals of all ages to accurately diagnose and manage their psychiatric and mental health conditions.
Preferred Requirements
One year or more of PMHNP experience. Outpatient experience.
